Why Kroket
It all started with a question about what I was feeding my cats
I'm Adrien, and I'd always wondered whether the food I gave my two cats, Newton and Mya, was good for them. Kroket came out of that question.

What I wanted to know
So I dug into it. The back of a bag seems to have everything on it: protein, fat, ash, fiber, moisture and a long list of ingredients. But one line is missing. Manufacturers don't have to list carbs, and they rarely do. If you want that number, you have to work it out yourself by subtracting everything else from 100. Nobody does that math in the pet food aisle with a bag in each hand.
Kroket does it from a single scan. It gives the food a score out of 100 and explains where that score comes from, using a public formula anyone can check.
Then I added everything I needed to take good care of my cats. The app works out how much to feed them, tracks their weight, keeps a record of their vaccines and treatments, and sends a notification before the bag runs out. All of it can be shared with the other people who help look after your pet.
Kroket was made for two cats, but it works just as well for dogs. The personalized score, the daily portion and the tracking all take your own pet into account. Today the app knows over 20,000 products across Europe, and on iPhone and iPad it speaks 7 languages.
The app doesn't tell you what to buy. It gives you a reference point, and you choose based on your budget and what your pet is willing to eat. If your current food has an average score, you haven't done anything wrong. I was asking myself the exact same question you are.

These are the rules we set for ourselves so that no brand can influence how its products score.

- We don't sell any data.

Suggested products are ranked by score
On every product page, the other products suggested are sorted by score. There's only one per brand, and nobody can pay to be on the list.
Allergen alerts and product recalls are free, and they'll stay free. A free account is all you need, on iPhone and iPad.

An independent app that grows with the people who use it
Missing a product? You can add it from the app. Take a photo of the bag, and the app reads the label and shows an estimated score. A product you add shows up right away; corrections suggested later are reviewed before they go live.
